Our Training Philosophy

Fit For Life is designed to be exactly what it says: A training program that makes you fit for your life.

01.

Movement Assessment

We utilize a simple 5 point movement assessment to gauge how well you can perform the basic movements. This allows us to begin you in the program safely. Our coaches are always evaluating movement patterns and tweaking things for clients, but the assessment is the first step in safety and injury reduction.

02.

Goals Discussion

After your movement assessment we sit down with you and talk to you about your goals. We’ll offer some guidance and suggestion based on your answers and your movement assessment, but make no mistake: This is about what you want for your body, your health and your fitness journey.

03.

First Workout

Next you’ll join a workout. Fit For Life sessions allow up to six clients per session so you’ll probably meet some of our other wonderful clients. The workouts will all follow the same format with different exercises: Warmup, Power/Plyo, Strength, and then Cardio.

04.

Full Program Immersion

With your first workout in the books you’ll be ready to dive headfirst into the program. The program features three full body workouts per week, however, if you do two sessions per week you are still hitting all the main body parts.

05.

Revisit Goals

Periodically throughout the program we will revisit the goals we discussed with you when you first started. Often times these goals change as you learn more about your body, about fitness, and about yourself.

06.

Customization

The final stage, once you have a few weeks of training under your belt, we begin to customize the program for you and your goals. Sometimes this looks like major changes (injury rehab, super specific goals, pregnancy) and sometimes it is just minor tweaks here and there.

How do I get started in fitness?

Getting started in fitness is a wildly overcomplicated topic. How you get started doesn’t really matter. What matters is starting. The modality that you choose doesn’t matter. Pick whatever modality you will actually do consistently! When I was twenty-nine or thirty and home a lot during the pandemic I loved powerlifting. I had ample recovery…

How to manage your holiday nutrition

We’re one day out from Christmas Eve and eight days out from New Year’s Eve. This is a time of great anxiety and, unfortunately, shame for those stuck in the endless trap of trying to lose weight. Managing holiday nutrition can be so overwhelming it causes people to just give up. Things like family gatherings,…

What are the benefits of doing a full body workout?

What are the benefits of doing a full body workout instead of body part splits or a push/pull/legs type split? A common plan for gymgoers is to hit push on Monday, pull on Wednesday, and legs on Friday. Another common plan for people is to go to the Jersey shore immediately after work on Friday…

Pricing

Fit For Life also fits your life financially.

When we say we think fitness should be for everyone, we mean that. Professional training is too often only accessible to the wealthy. We think that’s bullshit. The people who really need it are the busy working parents who teach our kids, build our homes, staff our hospitals, and keep our communities running.

Starter Plan

Starting a fitness journey can be scary, especially if you’re new to exercise. It can also be a big financial commitment. When you start Fit For Life, pay a one time fee for your first SIX WEEKS while you build the habit. After the first six weeks you can choose the monthly plan that works for you. This allows you to make an informed decision!
